Boeck visits real sheet metal workers: ABP – Innovative Sheet Metal Processing

Marcel Wendt and Jochen Böck - 10 years as successful business partners
For over ten years, ABP and boeck have enjoyed a close partnership characterized by technological advancements, short decision-making processes, and high product quality, ensuring that ABP is always equipped with optimal deburring tools for a wide variety of workpiece sizes and materials.

Today, Jochen Böck is visiting ABP – Innovative Blechbearbeitung GmbH. The company is located in Schopsdorf, a village of 300 inhabitants about 100 kilometers west of Berlin. In our series "Böck visits real sheet metal workers," we want to find out exactly where the grinding tools are used.

Complete process chain for sheet metal & pipe covered

Company founder Marcel Wendt explains that his firm is a contract manufacturer specializing in sheet metal and tube processing. ABP caters to individual customer requirements, covering the entire sheet metal processing chain. Whether laser cutting, punching, threading, welding, deburring, or grinding, the 50 employees tackle the challenges. Batch sizes from one to 100,000 are no problem. Complete assemblies can also be manufactured. The company processes approximately 5,500 tons of material annually, generating a turnover of around 15 million euros.

Almost the same birthday!

Contact with the company boeck was established over ten years ago. Both companies were founded almost simultaneously in 2013. ABP started with a Weber TT 1100 grinding machine at the time of its founding. However, this machine is now somewhat outdated, so it was upgraded to an Arku EdgeBreaker6000. A Q-Fin F200XL was also added. All of these machines were equipped with tools from boeck. The requirements for these tools are very high, as batch sizes ranging from one to 100,000 represent a very wide spectrum. The challenge was to develop and provide tools for different workpiece sizes and material types.

We took on this challenge, and over time a close partnership developed between the two companies. ABP is one of boeck's oldest customers, and Marcel Wendt emphasizes his enthusiasm for boeck's product range, which has grown so significantly over the years. He also greatly appreciates the short communication channels and quick decision-making in the business relationship. Wendt describes us as approachable and collaborative. Furthermore, the managing director praises the quality and the price-performance ratio of the tools. Jochen Böck adds: "[...] This is naturally also due to the philosophy of both companies [...] We are [both] very technology-driven. [...] That's why it's simply a perfect fit!"„
