DEBURRING & EDGE-ROUNDING
To create optimal conditions for subsequent process steps such as powder coating, wet painting, electroplating, or anodizing, and simultaneously eliminate the risk of injury from sharp edges, the removal of primary and secondary burrs is often combined with targeted edge rounding. Required radii range from a few tenths of a millimeter to 2 mm or larger. Such defined edge radii are increasingly specified by standards, such as DIN EN 1090, and are a crucial factor for coating quality and component safety.
Deburring and edge rounding are performed using flexible abrasive tools that are highly adaptable to internal and external contours such as radii, bores, and cutouts. Deburring discs, deburring rollers, deburring blocks, and deburring brushes are used on handheld machines as well as on stationary grinding and deburring machines.
