From Groundbreaking to Production – The Story Behind Our New Manufacturing Facility

BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
We are investing in a new manufacturing and office facility to support the long-term growth of boeck.
The new site will allow us to expand our automated production capabilities, increase warehouse capacity and create the infrastructure required for future development.
By combining advanced manufacturing technologies with a modern energy management concept, the new facility will significantly increase our production capacity.
We look forward to welcoming customers, partners and visitors to our new headquarters and continuing to supply high-quality solutions for industrial edge preparation and surface finishing.
PROJECT TIMELINE
January 2023

The Project Begins
In January 2023, construction officially started on our new manufacturing facility in Leipheim, Germany. Work commenced on the former airbase site, marking the beginning of one of the largest investments in the company's history.
MAY 2023
Major Construction Phase
Construction activities are progressing rapidly. During site preparation, several challenges emerged due to the area's historical military use.
As the former military airfield was heavily targeted during World War II, unexploded ordnance remained below ground. Specialist explosive ordnance disposal teams safely identified, removed and disposed of bombs and ammunition remnants to prepare the site for construction.

AUGUST 2023

Preparing the Foundation
Following the clearance work, the next phase of construction began. Excavated areas were refilled and compacted using heavy equipment to create a stable foundation for future production facilities.
At the same time, the site's drainage infrastructure was installed. Several deep infiltration shafts were constructed to ensure reliable water management across the facility.
October 2023
Fire Water Storage Installation
A former military diesel storage tank was repurposed into a dedicated fire water reservoir.
The 32-meter-long, four-meter-wide and 54-ton tank was transported and positioned using two mobile cranes operating in tandem. Once completed, the system will provide a reliable fire water supply for the new manufacturing facility.

December 2023

Site Preparation Continues
Groundworks entered the final phase of preparation. Heavy machinery incorporated a lime concrete mixture deep into the subsoil to improve ground stability. At the same time, the facility's grounding system was installed using stainless steel conductors, while the site was brought to its final construction level.
January 2024
Vertical Construction Begins
Following the completion of the foundation work, the first precast concrete elements for the production hall arrived on site. Two mobile cranes with lifting capacities of up to 130 tons unloaded and positioned the structural elements with precision. The production hall is supported by 67 concrete columns, all of which were installed within just two days.

February 2024

Structural Connections Take Shape
Escorted by police vehicles, the large roof girders for the production hall arrived on site. Each girder measures 33 meters in length and weighs approximately 38 tons. Using tandem lifting operations, two mobile cranes positioned the components onto their anchor points.
At the same time, a fire protection wall was constructed between the two hall sections using precast concrete elements.
March 2024
The Scale Becomes Visible
Construction of the production halls continued with the installation of wall and roof cladding.
A Liebherr MK 140-5.1 mobile construction crane lifted numerous trapezoidal steel panels onto the building structure. Meanwhile, work on the office building commenced. With the casting of the foundation slab and the erection of structural elements, the dimensions of the future headquarters became visible for the first time.Within only a few days, both floors of the office building were completed.
