Hardness grade 1 represents very flexible pins with low pressure to protect workpiece edges. Hardness grade 2 offers flexible pins for universal applications while still protecting workpiece edges. For stubborn slag residue, hardness grade 3 provides hard-mounted pins with high impulse. For extremely adhesive slag, hardness grade 4 uses extra-hard pins.

The four different hardness grades allow the tool to be specifically adapted to the thickness of the adhering slag. Light slag residues are gently removed with softer versions, while stubborn or extremely sticky slag residues require harder versions.
