Complex workpieces from Austria

Based in Baden near Vienna, RK Metalltechnik supplies metalworkers, plant engineers, special-purpose machine manufacturers, and system producers within a 30-kilometer radius. Their production focus is on manufacturing numerous complex components in small batches, guaranteeing the transformation of workpieces from 3D model to finished product within five days. This is made possible by a proprietary workflow and in-house developed software.

The relationship between boeck and RK Metalltechnik has existed for a year and a half. Krumpholz acquired a Weber TTSC 1100 deburring machine at that time and was then faced with the issue of procuring abrasives. This is how he first came into contact with boeck's tools. His Weber machine uses pre-grinding belts, deburring rollers and deburring discs, as well as abrasive fleece for surface finishing.

RK Metalltechnik primarily processes steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Rounded cut edges and a defined surface finish are standard features at RK Metalltechnik.

Abrasive belts for the beginning and end of the deburring process

Pre-grinding belts are used especially for removing primary burrs from sheet metal parts, primarily in grits 80 and 120. Boeck offers a choice of four different editions. The Brown edition is the all-round tool, universally applicable and, in a correspondingly fine grit, also ideal for final grinding. The Blue edition features a zirconia alumina abrasive grain and offers high material removal rates. The Red edition is an improvement over the Blue version: even higher material removal rates and high wear resistance. Finally, the Grey edition: with its silicon carbide grain, a glossy surface finish can be achieved.

Abrasive fleece belts, available in grits from 80 to 400, are used for finishing sanding. Depending on the desired effect, they can be used to smooth or satin-finish the surface. These fleeces are typically applied mechanically in roller or belt form.

Through an initial phone call with Marc, Reinhard Krumpholz quickly learned a great deal about using the right deburring tools. "In those ten minutes, I sensed so much expertise and learned so much about deburring agents. [...] From that moment on, it was clear to me that we could only work with boeck." True to the Austrian's motto, "Challenge the Status Quo!", he is also currently working on a new production platform project. This platform is designed to reduce the workpiece lead time from five to two working days. Furthermore, RK Metalltechnik is particularly keen to promote young talent and actively shape the future of the next generation of sheet metal workers. A strong initiative that we, as true sheet metal workers, can only support. "What I like best is the expertise that boeck brings to the table [...] and no matter what issues I have, boeck always helps me." Sheet metal workers outside of Germany also rely on the knowledge and advice we offer. This video provides exclusive insights into the manufacturing processes at RK Metalltechnik. Which deburring tools are used on the WEBER TTSC? How is the deburring process integrated into production? And what advantages do boeck deburring tools offer for an optimized process chain? These and many other exciting questions are answered here.
