DEBURRING DISCS FOR SHEET METAL EDGE PREPARATION

Deburring discs are designed to remove primary and secondary burrs while creating consistent edge conditions on sheet metal components. They play an important role in industrial sheet metal processing by supporting controlled edge preparation and reproducible component quality. Available with different abrasive materials and configurations, boeck deburring discs can be adapted to steel, stainless steel, aluminum, galvanized sheet metal and film-coated materials.

Deburring and Edge Preparation with Deburring Blocks

Following laser cutting, punching, plasma cutting or other sheet metal manufacturing processes, burrs and sharp edges can remain on the component. Before coating, assembly or further processing, these edge conditions often need to be improved to create stable downstream processes and a reproducible component condition. In the deburring process, primary and secondary burrs are removed while the edge is processed to create a consistent transition between the sheet surface and the component edge.

This requires highly flexible tooling capable of adapting to holes, cut-outs and complex geometries without compromising processing consistency.

Standard, Professional or HERO?

boeck deburring discs are available in three performance levels, allowing manufacturers to select the most suitable solution for their application. The STANDARD deburring disc features a single-row abrasive structure and is suitable for a wide range of deburring and edge preparation applications. Its combination of abrasive cloth and non-woven abrasive material supports reliable burr removal while maintaining process flexibility.

The PROFESSIONAL deburring disc features a dual-row abrasive design. The larger contact area, increased number of active abrasive flaps and balanced pressure distribution contribute to stable processing conditions and consistent results across the component surface and edge. Like the STANDARD version, the PROFESSIONAL configuration combines abrasive cloth and non-woven abrasive materials.

The HERO deburring disc is designed for applications requiring maximum edge preparation performance and high feed rates. Unlike conventional configurations, the HERO version consists exclusively of laser-cut abrasive cloth flaps with a finger-shaped structure. The staggered arrangement of these abrasive segments creates a significantly higher abrasive density while maintaining exceptional flexibility. This combination supports intensive edge preparation, high productivity and consistent processing performance.

Standard, Professional or HERO?

boeck deburring discs are available in three editions, allowing you to select the right deburring disc for your deburring process. The STANDARD deburring discs feature a single row of abrasive material. PROFESSIONAL deburring discs, on the other hand, are equipped with a double row of abrasive material and offer a larger contact area, more active abrasive flaps, and a balanced contact pressure achieved through a precise combination of the outer and inner rings. Both the STANDARD and PROFESSIONAL versions consist of a combination of woven and non-woven abrasive flaps. HERO deburring discs are made exclusively of laser-cut abrasive fabric flaps with a finger-like structure. The staggered arrangement of these finger-like fabric flaps allows for a significantly higher fabric density while maintaining high flexibility. This enables extremely tight edge rounding and the highest feed rates.
