Deburring laser-cut parts with tools from Boeck
Many metal parts in the manufacturing industry are laser-cut. This process creates a burr on the workpiece, which must be removed for further processing. At boeck, you'll find the ideal tools for working with sheet metal and removing burrs of any thickness.

Deburring of laser-cut sheet metal
Many sheet metal fabricators use a laser cutting machine to cut their workpieces. During cutting, an unwanted burr is created. The laser melts the material being cut, and it is ejected downwards by the gas pressure. Depending on the type of material and the workpiece thickness, the burr will be larger or smaller. The type of laser also plays a role. Aluminum, for example, is more prone to burr formation during laser cutting than other metals. For practical further processing, minimal risk of injury, and a certain aesthetic appeal, the workpieces must be burr-free and usually have rounded edges.
boeck offers individual solutions for removing burrs of varying thicknesses.

Deburring truck parts with sanding belts
Abrasive belts and sheets are used to remove the primary burr. They are typically installed on stationary deburring machines and constitute the first stage of sheet metal processing. Since the degree of burr formation during laser cutting depends on the material, its thickness, and the laser itself, it is necessary to assess whether deburring with abrasive belts is required. If the burr is too small, processing may not be worthwhile; if it is pronounced, an abrasive belt is used because other tools might not be able to remove it completely.

boeck Velcro foam backing plate
Boeck's resealable hook and loop foam backing makes attaching hook and loop sanding discs a breeze. Boeck offers it in three different hardness levels, allowing you to precisely match the backing pad to the requirements of your project. It can be fitted with either hook and loop sanding discs or non-woven hook and loop discs. Both are suitable for rough sanding and removing light burrs, as well as for finishing. The Boeck hook and loop foam backing is available with various mounting options, making it compatible with all types of machines – angle grinders with M14 mounts, automated deburring machines, manual deburring machines, and more. For even faster tool changes, we offer our QUICK quick-release system.

Boeck deburring discs for laser-cut sheet metal
Boeck deburring discs effortlessly remove light primary and secondary burrs and optimally round the edges of the workpiece. They are available in different configurations and are suitable for various materials and surfaces.
The standard and professional versions are equipped with a combination of abrasive fleece and fabric. They differ in the amount of abrasive material, with the professional version, featuring a two-row design, providing a more even pressure distribution.
Furthermore, it is possible to equip the deburring discs with the Cubitron II abrasive cloth. This cloth is coated with sharp ceramic grains, resulting in higher material removal rates and allowing for higher feed rates.

Deburring and rounding laser-cut sheets with boeck deburring rollers
Boeck deburring rollers are characterized by a high abrasive density while remaining highly flexible. They adapt perfectly to sheet metal edges, resulting in flawless deburring and edge rounding.
Depending on the workpiece and desired result, we recommend different editions with varying grit sizes and slot widths. If your sheet metal piece has many small recesses, a narrower slot width (3 & 3 mm) is recommended; for achieving pronounced edge rounding on the outer surface, a wider slot width (5 & 5 mm) is appropriate. Unlike conventional manufacturing methods such as stamping, we cut our abrasive flaps using a laser, resulting in a maximum grit content. We also offer two cutting options: the standard G-Line and, for even better adaptability of the flaps, the S-Line.
Furthermore, the slotting angle can also be adjusted. If you select the angled X-cut, a non-directional finish will remain on the workpiece.
Deburring blocks from Boeck
Do you use a Lissmac SBM-1500 or similar machine for deburring and edge rounding? Then the boeck deburring blocks are the perfect addition to give it an upgrade.
The design options for deburring blocks are diverse. Here, too, you can choose the right one for your laser-cut parts from the nine different editions. Thanks to its abrasive fabric with a finger-like lamellar structure, the HERO variant offers extreme flexibility. Maximum feed rates with maximum abrasive density ensure the strongest edge rounding in the shortest possible time.
In addition, you can use your machine with the mWith the boeck QUICK quick-release fastener, you can set up even faster. The blue ones Base support blocks are screwed together with the force band, allowing the blocks to be mounted in no time.. This saves you valuable time when changing your deburring blocks and reduces downtime for your machine.
