boeck visits real sheet metal workers: Reiff Umformtechnik

On his last visit, Marc Böck met Maximilian Reiff, Managing Director of Reiff Umformtechnik in Leipheim – practically next door. The company offers a comprehensive range of services in sheet metal processing, including laser cutting, bending, welding, milling, and thread cutting. Marc wanted to see firsthand how and where Reiff uses boeck tools.
Hansjörg Reiff GmbH was founded in 1999 by Maximilian's father, and Maximilian himself joined the company in 2015. He recognized early on that the grinding shop was a bottleneck in the production process – manual processing wasted valuable time. To increase efficiency, Reiff Umformtechnik therefore relied on modern machines from Loewer, Q-Fin, and Timesavers. This also led to the connection with boeck, as boeck offers customized tooling solutions for each of these machine manufacturers.

Deburring rollers and plates at Reiff
The Loewer machine from Reiff uses the 260 deburring discs – ideal for aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. On the Q-Fin machine, which Maximilian describes as particularly user-friendly, the QUICK260 discs in the Blue Edition with quick-release fastener are used.
The 260 deburring discs are among the largest in the boeck range. The Blue Edition with zirconium corundum fabric ensures high material removal rates and strong edge rounding on stainless steel. Eight other abrasive fabric variants are also available, including the Brown Edition as a versatile all-rounder, the Green Edition for gentle processing of foiled or galvanized sheet metal, and the water-resistant Synthetic Edition for wet processing.
The Timesavers 32 RB brings even greater precision to the deburring process. After processing with a pre-grinding belt, rollers take over edge rounding before an abrasive fleece belt achieves the perfect surface finish. Here, too, boeck offers a wide selection of deburring rollers, including the Purple Edition with extremely high material removal rates thanks to ceramic grain abrasive fleece and the Grey Edition with silicon carbide coating for maximum cutting ability. In addition, there are various slot patterns that are laser-cut into the rollers. Customers can choose between two slot angles: The G-Cut is ideal for deburring and edge rounding, while the X-Cut, with its 60-degree angled lamellae, creates a diffuse no-way finish – an eccentric machining process that leaves no defined grinding direction on the surface.

Friendly cooperation and fast shipping
Reiff Umformtechnik's customer portfolio ranges from small metalworking shops to global corporations. Maximilian places great value on regionality and, as managing director of a family business, cultivates a socially responsible and fair approach to customers and partners. In addition to manufacturing, Reiff also offers its customers support in design and conducts feasibility studies.
Maximilian describes his long-standing collaboration with boeck as flexible, uncomplicated, and based on partnership. He particularly appreciates the fast response times: orders placed in the evening are often on their way the very next morning. These short communication channels enable efficient and solution-oriented work for both parties.
