boeck visits real sheet metal workers: T&M Vertrieb OHG

Marc Böck and Andre Pielka with the boeck deburring block system in various deburring block editions.

Marc Böck visited T&M Vertrieb OHG in Alt-Mölln, east of Hamburg. For the series "Böck visits real sheet metal workers," he once again saw where and how our products are used. T&M founders Kay Thierfeldt and Tobias Mahn welcomed him. Originally founded in 2005 as a sales company, it quickly became clear that production should be handled in-house. Since 2007, they have been manufacturing their own storage systems for samples. T&M relies on handcrafted production rather than assembly line work and machine manufacturing. Every product is made by hand. The 15 employees receive specialized training to operate the machines.

Sample storage systems are primarily used in the pharmaceutical and research industries. They are often installed in cold storage rooms and refrigerators and are exposed to temperatures ranging from -80 to -150 degrees Celsius. In addition to standardized products such as cabinet racks, boxes, and trays, various customized sample storage solutions are also available for customers.

boeck ensures better processing of sheet metal parts

Only thin sheet metal with a thickness of 0.5 to 0.8 millimeters is used in production. This presents the company with a challenge when deburring and rounding the workpieces. Due to the thinness, the sheet metal offers little surface area for deburring at the edge and is more difficult to machine. Deburring and rounding require a hard tool with little flexibility. T&M acquired a Lissmac SBM-M 1500 machine. This machine processes the sheet metal piece simultaneously from above and below using deburring blocks mounted on belts. It was also subsequently modified with a frequency converter, which allows the sheet metal parts to be ground at a slower speed.

Here, the QUICK7050 blocks in the Blue Edition from boeck are used. With their zirconium corundum abrasive fabric, these blocks ensure high material removal rates and are suitable for large radii on stainless steel. At T&M, the finished product requires hardly any post-processing. Thanks to the QUICK7050 quick-release fastener, the individual blocks can be easily exchanged, significantly reducing machine setup times. The belt over which the individual blocks run is simply fitted with the blue mounting pieces. The deburring blocks can then be attached by screwing them in. "My initial contact with boeck was very pleasant. We met at a trade fair, also through recommendations. From the beginning, I've had a very pleasant, friendly relationship, which is always exciting, and I remain very impressed," says Andre Pielka, Production Manager at T&M.

He is clearly satisfied with boeck's tooling solutions. He praises the "unbeatable quality," high durability, and once again emphasizes the excellent advice from Marc. Thanks to them, T&M's customers are very satisfied with the sheet metal processing capabilities of the products.
