Industrial tools for the
Edge and surface finishing
- Sheet metal, wood and machining
Edge and surface processing encompasses all process steps for producing defined component conditions on the edges and surfaces of sheet metal, wood and machined components, and forms the basis for stable subsequent processes.
Thermal and mechanical separation processes result in the formation of slag, primary and secondary burrs, and oxide layers. Slag removal, deburring, and edge rounding create a defined component condition suitable for stable subsequent processes.
Woodworking
Varying material densities and fiber orientations lead to uneven surfaces and raised fibers. Grinding, texturing, and finishing achieve a uniform surface and defined coating adhesion.
Machining
Edge and surface processing along the process chain
Depending on the material, cutting process, and component requirements, different initial conditions arise at the edge and surface. Slag, primary burrs, secondary burrs, oxide layers, machining marks, or raised fibers affect coating suitability, assembly, appearance, and process stability.
Boeck industrial tools are used in a process-oriented manner to produce a defined component condition. Machining is carried out along clearly structured process steps – from pre-machining to a reproducible surface finish.
The individual process steps are functionally linked: Slag removal creates the prerequisite for uniform material removal during pre-grinding. Deburring removes primary and secondary burrs, while edge rounding creates a reproducible transition between surface and edge. Oxide removal and surface finishing form the basis for stable coating processes and defined surface properties.

Industrial tools for edge and surface processing of sheet metal
Slag removal, pre-grinding, deburring, edge rounding, oxide removal and surface finishing
Following thermal and mechanical cutting processes, sheet metal parts develop slag, primary and secondary burrs, and oxide layers. These affect coating suitability, further processing, and process stability.
Edge and surface processing is carried out as a defined process chain. In the process step of Deslagging Slag deposits are mechanically removed to create a homogeneous starting state. In the subsequent Pre-grinding Unevenness is reduced and a uniform tool engagement is prepared.
In the process of Deburring Primary and secondary ridges are removed, while in Edge rounding A radius-like transition is created between the surface and the edge. Oxide removal ensures clean, metallic edges before use Surface finish Reproducible surface properties are created.
The result is a defined component condition with uniform coating uptake, stable adhesion of coating systems, reduced rework, and reproducible subsequent processes.
Industrial tools for surface finishing of wood
Sanding, texturing, intermediate lacquer sanding and surface finishing
Woodworking processes such as sawing, milling, and other mechanical operations create machining marks, raised fibers, and variations in surface texture. These are further accentuated by varying material densities and fiber orientations, affecting coating absorption as well as the optical and tactile quality.
In the sanding process, abrasive cloth belts and sandpaper belts are used to even out the surface and reduce machining marks. For texturing, disc brushes and spiral round brushes are used to selectively remove the softer parts of the wood and highlight the grain.
In intermediate sanding of the paint, fine abrasives such as abrasive fleece are used to remove raised fibers and create a uniform base for subsequent coating layers. The final surface finish creates reproducible surface conditions that ensure defined optical and tactile properties.
The result is a defined surface condition with uniform coating uptake, stable adhesion of coating systems, and reproducible properties in optics, feel, and further processing.

Industrial tools for post-processing in machining
Deburring, edge rounding and surface finishing
After milling or turning, burrs form on precision parts along defined component geometries. These affect the function, dimensional accuracy, and subsequent processing.
In the deburring process, deburring brushes, deburring brush segments, and deburring brush discs are used to remove primary and secondary burrs with minimal material removal. The process is carried out precisely at the edge without altering the existing component geometry.
In the subsequent edge rounding process, a reproducible, radius-like transition between surface and edge is created. The surface finish produces uniform surface properties without affecting dimensional accuracy.
The result is a defined component condition with burr-free edges, reproducible transitions and stable processes in CNC machining, automated manufacturing and series production.
